1. What services does The Tinker’s Fix offer?
We provide a wide range of handyman professional services, including traditional home repairs and maintenance, handyman services, minor landscaping, painting and patching, bedroom shelves and wardrobes, leaky taps, minor carpentry, mounting TV’s, furniture assembly, grouting etc.
We also know that there are other tasks a family needs that can be confusing, you may not have the tools or time to perform yourself, that other companies can’t tackle or just need some help to learn along the way. We can help you with Networking/Wi-Fi setup, office setup, garage / workshop fitouts, bike repairs and maintenance, even fishing kayak and boat setups! We can perform pressure washing and graffiti cleanup, measure-ups and fitting for blinds and window films to reduce glare and heat transfer.
Also, for our regular customers, when things get urgent we may be available for emergency after-hours callouts.
2. What is the maximum job value you can do?
The Tinker’s Fix will handle projects up to $5000 in value.
3. Are you insured and licensed?
Yes, we carry $5m public liability insurance and comply with all Australian Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations.
We won’t perform work where a licensed Electrician or Plumber is required. We are happy to advise you when this is the case and will happily recommend those we use ourselves.
4. How do I book a service?
Simply contact us via phone or our website contact form. We’ll schedule a visit at a time that suits you, discuss your needs, and provide a written quote before starting any work.
5. What areas do you serve?
We proudly serve Wahroonga, Warrawee, Turramurra, St Ives, Pymble, Gordon and surrounding areas. We can also consider work on the Central Coast and with notice, the Mid-North coast including Tea-Gardens, Hawk’s Nest and locale.

6. How much will my job cost?
Costs depend on the service and scope, but all jobs are under $5,000. We provide a detailed written quote upfront, and any changes will be confirmed in writing with your approval, including any additional costs, ensuring transparency.
7. Do you offer emergency services?
Yes, our after-hours emergency callouts are available to regular customers for urgent repairs. Contact us via telephone, and we’ll respond promptly to arrest the issue.
8. How long will my job take?
We aim to complete work within agreed timeframes, weather and availability permitting. For an estimate, let us know your project details, and we’ll provide a timeline in writing. We focus on quality and care for your home an belongings - we want to make sure you’re happy the first time.
9. What if I’m not satisfied with the work?
Your satisfaction is our priority. If you have concerns, contact us within 7 days of completion, and we’ll address them promptly, ensuring the job meets our high standards of care. We provide a 12 month warranty on our workmanship.
10. Do I need to provide materials or tools?
We bring our own tools and equipment, but if you prefer specific materials (e.g., paint or wood), please let us know in advance. We will source materials within the job estimate as needed.
11. Can I get a written contract?
Yes, we provide a detailed written contract outlining the scope, costs, and terms before starting any work, and we require your approval of the estimate before commencing, protecting both you and our team.
Our agreements will document the specific inclusions - please don’t assume inclusions that are not documented. We’re happy to discuss any clarifications you need to ensure you’re 100% happy with the scope. You may request queries, clarifications, or changes to the scope of services at any time, and we’ll provide written confirmation of any adjustments. Changes to the scope may incur additional costs, which we will advise to you in writing, including a detailed breakdown, before any cost-impacting action is taken. Your written approval is required for all scope changes and cost changes prior to the Business proceeding.
